Working principle of compressor

A compressor is a driven fluid machinery that pressurizes low-pressure gas to high-pressure, and it is the heart of a refrigeration system. The working principle of a compressor can be described through the following steps: 1

1. Inhalation: The compressor sucks in gas from the external environment through a suction valve, usually low-pressure gas.

2. Compression: Once gas is drawn in, the compressor begins to compress the gas. At this point, the compressor will push the gas towards smaller chambers or volumes through devices such as plungers and impellers, reducing the distance between gas molecules.

3. Emission: When the gas is compressed to the target pressure, the compressor releases high-pressure gas through the exhaust valve. The pressure of the emitted gas is usually higher than that of the inhaled gas.

4. Cycle: After discharge, the compressor will suck in new low-pressure gas again and repeat the above steps to maintain the circulation of the gas.

These steps are repeated continuously, causing the gas pressure to continuously increase. The working principle of a compressor is based on the physical principle that molecules approach each other when compressing gas, thereby increasing gas pressure.

In addition, compressors can also be classified according to their structure and movement mode, commonly including piston compressors, screw compressors, centrifugal compressors, and axial compressors. Different types of compressors have different structures and applications, but their basic working principle is to compress low-pressure gas into high-pressure gas
